News from the Beehive Toddler Group March 2010
The Beehive Toddler Group was very busy in the run up to Christmas. We held a Christmas Party for the children with party food and drinks, singing and dancing. The eagerly anticipated visit from a very jolly Father Christmas was well received, with each child receiving a gift.
The mums and helpers enjoyed a well deserved Mum's Night In, with chilli con carne, some great desserts and many a drink! It was a nice chance for the mums to relax without the children. We plan to hold another one very soon!
As ever, the joint Lilliput Nursery and Beehive Toddler Group Christmas Nativity was a great success. Our thanks, as always, go to Anne Robinson and all the staff at Lilliput for letting us join in fhe fun. The church was busy and the children made ua all very proud by singing and behaving beautifully! A big thank you to everyone who came along to support us.
We have been using some of our group funds to buy some new toys and equipment for the group. The children are enjoying playing with the talking kitchen and the new dolls. We have also purchased some new craft idea CD's and some chunky stampers that the little ones can use.
If you want any more information about the group, please call Christine 01257 415669 or Sam 01772 322989 or just come along - we are all very friendly!
Monday 10.30-12 noon, Scout Hut, Chorley Old Road, Whittle le Woods (see the meetings page for more details)

Choosedays Cafe - Clayton Brook Community Church

Two young girls had a vision of a place where teenages and young adults could go to relax and hangout without fear of being bothered and without the price tag. A team was put together to organise and go over the details, to see what could be done. Grants and loans were secured and a lot of support provided for the vision to come to life. After months of decorating and hard work put in by volunteers, the cafe was ready. Volunteers were rounded up and ideas thrashed out to make the cafe perfect.Everything served in the Choosedays Cafe is free and always will be. We hope you enjoy the cafe as much as we do and look forward to seeing you as a regular customer.
We would also like to thank each and every volunteer for the hard work and effort that has gone into this cafe. With your help our dream has become a reality.
Events: Once a month we try to have a 'Film Night', we have also tried Karaoke, a Christmas do, and other social events. There are lots of board games to play and people just come and go as they feel. It's a cool place to just hangout!
Drop in on a Tuesday 7.30-9.30 open to all 15-21yr old

Friday Club WHAT??? WHERE??? WHY???
Friday Club is held at CLAYTON BROOK COMMUNITY CHURCH each Friday from 6.30pm to 7.45pm, during school term times. It's a fun night, and the club caters for all SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN. Due to a very high demand for places, it runs on a MEMBERSHIP basis.
Activities typically include snooker, table football, table tennis, and air hockey.
A room is set aside for the quieter pursuit of craft activities.
In another room we have fun with various board games and sometimes play Twister or hula hoops.
In the main hall we play badminton, giant volleyball, and have to burn up our energy with dodge ball and 'run around' games. One of our favourites is Port & Starboard!
Juice and biscuits are proved too, and of course, a bit of faith input too.
We often sing or have a short talk about God's love.
Sometimes we have special nights when we can bring our Mums and Dads along, and challlenge them at the games!
Usually there is a short waiting list for membership, so if you are interested in joining up for Friday fun and friendship don't delay, contact Stuart Cross at Clayton Brook or see any of the leaders at church. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Who is God? How did the world begin? Why is there so much trouble in the world? How can I go to Heaven some day?
The WONDERSEARCH CLUB is for boys and girls who want to know more about the Bible, about God and his son Jesus. At CLAYTON BROOK we now have six members of the WONDERSEARCH CLUB.
The 'Super six' are Jade, Brittany, Leah, Chloe, Jack and Luc.
First of all, the boys and girls have to register and then complete worksheets and activity sheets. They get posted off to be marked, and a few days later a reply comes through your letterbox, usually containg a surprise or two!!
At the end of 5 lessons, you will receive a special WONDER AWARD!
You will need to have your own copy of THE WONDER BOOK, and have your parents agreement to joining the Club.
The club and correspondence course is free and is run by a well respected Christian organisation called CEF (Child Evangelism and Fellowhip).
